Oxford United Falls Short in 2025 President’s Cup Final Against Port FC

Oxford United failed to claim the 2025 President’s Cup title after falling to Port FC in the final held in Indonesia. The team, coached by Gary Rowett and owned by Anindya Bakrie and Erick Thohir, had to settle for a runner-up finish.

Before reaching the final, Oxford United delivered an impressive performance in the group stage, recording convincing wins over:

  • Indonesia All Star (6–3)

  • Arema FC (4–0)

In the final, Mark Harris put Oxford in front with a goal in the 10th minute. However, Port FC — owned by Madam Pang — turned the game around with goals from Teerasak Poeiphimai and Perea Vargas, scored near the end of the first half and early in the second half.

Despite being reduced to 10 men after captain Tanaboon Kesarat was shown a red card, Port FC managed to hold their lead until the final whistle and were crowned champions.
