Onic ID Extends Winning Run, Reaches MPL ID Season 15 Upper Bracket Final

Onic ID continues their strong second-half performance in the MPL ID S15 Regular Season, advancing to the Upper Bracket Final after defeating the dark horse, Geek Fam, in today’s quarterfinals.

The Yellow Porcupines already hit the headlines after shocking the defending champions, Team Liquid ID, yesterday with a 3-1 by utilizing fresh strategies. They repeated this success against Geek Fam at Jakarta International Velodrome.

The opener round saw disciplined defense from Geek Fam forcing Onic to patiently wait for the late game. Their patience paid off as their composition peaked, overwhelming Geek Fam with a final score of 30-14 after roughly 20 minutes.

Game 2 featuring similar drafts, Geek Fam’s exp laner Mercy “Gobs” Richart attempted to disrupt Onic’s strategy. However, his efforts couldn’t halt the aggressive onslaught led by Gilang “Sanz”. It only took 14 minutes for Onic to seal the round 27-11.

Geek Fam narrowed the gap on Game 3 with a surprise draft that caught Onic boys off guard. Captain Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy’s Kalea created crucial opportunities for the carry duo Valent “Aboy” Agriansyah and Kenny “KennzyySkie” Ramadhan, securing a 17-5 victory.

Unfortunately, the victory run did not last long as they committed a blunder on Game 4. Despite early struggles, Geek mounted a surprise comeback around the 14-minute mark, initiated by Aboy, and then managed to break the bottom lane, nearly destroyed the base within striking distance.

In a stunning reversal, however, Onic’s Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol and Clayton “Savero” Adrielo swiftly halted their advance by finishing everyone within their area. Capitalizing the moment, Onic surged down the mid lane to end the game 15-10 at just above 14-minute mark.

Onic now awaits the winner of today’s RRQ Hoshi versus Alter Ego match to determine their match in tomorrow’s Upper Bracket Final.
