Onic Butts Announces Retirement from Esports

Former legendary MLBB player and Honor of Kings Onic Esports captain, Muhammad Sanubari (Onic Butts), has surprisingly announced his full retirement from esports.

Butts revealed via social media last night that he has left the Onic HoK roster and will begin a career as a content creator under Onic ID’s management. The 24-year-old openly admitted that he already lost his competitive hunger months ago, which making retirement the only logical choice.

“I’ve retired as a pro player. I want to focus on regular livestreaming and becoming a content creator. But I’m still under Onic as a talent. My passion is gone. I forced myself [to compete] for the last six months, but it just didn’t work out.”

This announcement will likely break the heart of the Yellow Porcupine fans, given Butts was a key player in securing their threepeat MPL ID championships (Seasons 10, 11, and 12) and helping them reach the M5 World Championship finals in the Philippines in late 2023.

Shortly after M5, he moved from the MLBB division to captain Onic’s newly formed HoK team in August 2024. Unfortunately, his skill and experience from a different title weren’t enough to carry the team further into major HoK tourneys.
