Ong Kim Swee Dorong Talenta Muda Bersinar di Persis Solo

Ong Kim Swee — the coach who famously defeated Indonesia in the SEA Games finals of 2011 and 2013 with Malaysia — is now providing fresh momentum for youth development at Persis Solo.

Although the team is still battling relegation in Liga 1 after five months under his leadership, the coach remains committed to giving playing time to homegrown young talents.

Several U-22 players regularly featured under Ong Kim Swee include:

  • Zanadin Fariz
  • Althaf Indie
  • Arkhan Kaka
  • Alesandro Nimo Olepue

The arrival of the coach, nicknamed Datuk, marks a dramatic shift in Indonesian football — from the figure who once broke Indonesian hearts by leading Harimau Muda to back-to-back SEA Games golds over Rahmad Darmawan’s Garuda Muda, to now being a key figure in fostering youth development locally.
