Oman Fires Coach Ahead of 2026 World Cup Qualifiers

The Oman Football Association (OFA) has announced the dismissal of coach Rashid Jaber ahead of the fourth round of 2026 World Cup Qualifiers Asian Zone — a competition where they share the same pot with Indonesia.

This decision comes after Al Ahmar’s unconvincing performance in the third round — collecting only 11 points from 10 matches with three victories, two draws, and five defeats.

Qualification to the fourth round nearly slipped from Oman’s grasp — they had to rely on a controversial penalty kick in the 90+7th minute to secure a draw against Palestine in last month’s final match.
