Oliver Solberg ready for WRC return with Toyota at Rally Estonia

WRC2 standings leader Oliver Solberg will return to WRC’s top class with Toyota at Rally Estonia next week — marking his first appearance at the highest level since 2022.

The 23-year-old Swedish driver has just completed his first test with the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 on Finland’s gravel roads.

“Driving the Toyota Rally1 in Finland is a dream come true. It’s the coolest thing I’ve ever done in my life. The car is incredible and I already feel comfortable with its speed,” Solberg stated.

Sebastien Ogier provided significant assistance in preparing Solberg for joining the team. Additionally, he received input from teammates including Elfyn Evans, Kalle Rovanpera, Sami Pajari, and Takamoto Katsuta.

“I spoke with Ogier on the phone. He was very helpful in understanding the team and this car. I feel he has helped me tremendously to feel comfortable and confident,” added Solberg.

Solberg’s targets for Rally Estonia are straightforward — complete the rally, gain as much experience as possible with the new car, and gradually increase speed throughout the competition.
