Oliver Solberg claims maiden WRC Rally Estonia victory with Toyota

According to Motorsport.com, Oliver Solberg achieved an extraordinary feat by claiming his first victory at WRC Rally Estonia — his debut with Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 since his last appearance in the top class in 2022.

Solberg and co-driver Elliott Edmondson delivered a stunning performance by winning nine out of 20 stages — a surprising achievement considering they only had two days to adapt to their new car.

“He has definitely proven he’s ready for Rally1,” stated 2019 world champion Ott Tanak. “It was incredible to see him immediately click with the car and enjoy the roads.”

Eight-time world champion Sebastien Ogier — whom Solberg had reached out to for advice — offered his congratulations via social media. Meanwhile, Thierry Neuville, who finished third, acknowledged that such achievements are extremely rare in WRC.

This success becomes an inspiring story after Solberg lost his seat at Hyundai in 2022 and had to step down to WRC2 class before finally getting a second chance in the top class with Toyota.
