Erick Thohir: Ole Romeny to Miss September FIFA Matchday

PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir has confirmed that Indonesia national team striker, Ole Romeny, will miss the matches against Kuwait and Lebanon during the September 2025 FIFA Matchday, as reported by Bolasport.com.

The Oxford United forward suffered a serious injury while playing against Arema FC in the 2025 President’s Cup — specifically after a tackle by Paulinho Moccelin at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung.

Following the incident, Romeny posted a photo on Instagram wearing an ankle walker boot, prompting Oxford United coach Gary Rowett to confirm his absence from the President’s Cup final.

Erick Thohir, who also owns Oxford United, stated that based on medical evaluations from both the club’s medical team and the Indonesia national team doctor, Romeny will undergo surgery to recover from his injury.
