Ole Romeny faced an unfortunate incident while representing Oxford United in the 2025 President’s Cup — the Indonesian national team player had to be stretchered off following a harsh tackle.

The pre-season tournament that was meant to be preparation for the new season turned into an unpleasant moment for Romeny. PSSI had invited two foreign clubs with Indonesian national team players to participate:

  • Oxford United with Ole Romeny and Marselino Ferdinan
  • Port FC with Asnawi Mangkualam

Among approximately 25 Oxford United players who came to Indonesia, Ole Romeny fell victim to a brutal tackle from Paulinho — Arema FC’s foreign player who showed excessive ambition in attempting to win the ball. As a result, Romeny had to wear special protective footwear after the match.
