Ole Romeny Suffers Serious Injury in Oxford United vs Arema FC Match

Ole Romeny sustained a serious injury during the match between Oxford United and Arema FC at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium — making him the second injury casualty in the 2025 President’s Cup.

The Indonesian national team striker had earlier opened the scoring in the ninth minute, putting Oxford United 2–0 ahead. However, the celebration was short-lived.

Just minutes after his goal, Paulinho of Arema FC delivered a hard tackle near the touchline, which led to Romeny’s foot being stepped on. The incident left the striker down on the pitch and forced him to be taken off by the medical team.

Oxford United head coach Gary Rowett confirmed that Romeny’s injury was serious and that he was unable to continue the match. As of now, there has been no official update regarding his recovery timeline or whether he will miss upcoming fixtures.
