Ole Romeny scores debut goal as Indonesia loses to Australia

Oxford Mail reports that Ole Romeny and Marselino Ferdinan, two players from Oxford United, represented Indonesia’s national team in their 2026 World Cup Asian Qualifier against Australia at Sydney Football Stadium.

Although the two players have never featured together at Oxford United — with Romeny playing in the first team and Ferdinan in the U-21 squad — this World Cup Qualifier provided the first opportunity for both to share the pitch.

Ole Romeny marked his international debut by scoring Indonesia’s only goal of the match. However, it wasn’t enough to prevent a 5-1 defeat to the Socceroos.
