Ole Romeny injured, Indonesia national team prepares to find replacement

According to Bolasport.com, PSSI plans to search for new naturalized players for Indonesia national team — following the injury suffered by Ole Romeny during President’s Cup 2025.

The incident occurred during the match between Oxford United and Arema FC at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Soreang. Romeny was injured after his foot was stepped on by Arema FC midfielder Paulinho in the 17th minute — just three minutes after he scored a goal for his team.

Due to the injury, the 25-year-old striker immediately returned to England and missed the President’s Cup 2025 final — where Oxford United lost 1-2 to Port FC.

This condition makes Romeny’s chances of representing Indonesia National Team in the Fourth Round of 2026 World Cup Qualifiers Asia zone this October very slim.
