OG’s Pause Decision at Fissure Universe Stirs Community Uproar

OG’s Dota 2 squad has recently faced harsh criticism and mockery over their performance during the Play-in stage group phase of FISSURE Universe: Episode 5.

During a tie-breaker match against Runa this morning, OG refused to extend a pause for their opponents, whose offlaner Albert “alberkaaa” Chernoivanov allegedly faced technical issues.

Reports said that alberkaaa was passed out at the 34-minute mark of Game 1, mid-fight near Roshan. His teammates claimed he rushed to regain access to his PC, but OG had the official’s approval to resume the match after just 15 minutes.

This put Runa into 4v5 situation for about12 minutes, as OG opted not to wait and used regular pauses instead. However, the numerical advantage was wasted as they failed to capitalize and ultimately lost the 56-minute game.

Though OG staged a reverse sweep to win the series 2-1, their victory drew backlash and ridicule from the Dota community. Runa’s carry Maxim “shigetsu” Popadinec took a jab at OG, calling them clown after the game concluded.

The result places OG in the lower bracket playoffs, where they will face Avulus tomorrow evening (17/5). While the team, led by legendary captain Johan “N0tail” Sundstein, showcased moments of brilliance, the controversy has undeniably dented OG’s pristine reputation as a role model for younger players.
