Nova Arianto splits Indonesia U-17 national team into two different squads

Nova Arianto has taken a strategic step for Indonesia U-17 national team development by dividing the squad into two different groups.

This team division has different targets — the first squad containing 2008-born players like Zahaby Gholy and Nazriel Alfaro will focus on the 2025 U-17 World Cup, while the second squad with players born in 2009 and later is being prepared for the 2026 U-17 Asian Cup.

The selection process for the second team has begun in Yogyakarta, with plans for this team to compete in EPA Liga 1 season 2025-2026.

“We are starting Indonesia U-17 national team activities by conducting selection in Yogyakarta,” stated Nova Arianto.
