Norris Leads British GP Second Practice with McLaren Dominance

Lando Norris delivered an impressive performance in British GP second practice session – the McLaren driver led with a significant margin over the Ferrari duo.

With track temperature stable at 38°C, Lewis Hamilton initially led on medium tires before drivers switched to qualifying simulation runs using soft compounds. Charles Leclerc briefly took the top spot, but Norris responded with a time of 1 minute 25.816 seconds – leading the Ferrari driver by 0.4 seconds.

Norris’s teammate Oscar Piastri finished fourth with a 0.47-second gap, while defending champion Max Verstappen had to settle for fifth – the Red Bull driver reported struggling with car handling in high-speed corners.

An incident occurred when Carlos Sainz spun off track due to a strong 20 km/h wind gust at Luffield corner. The Ferrari driver was subsequently investigated by race stewards for allegedly rejoining the track unsafely in front of Nico Hulkenberg.
