Lando Norris Criticizes Max Verstappen’s Aggressive Driving at Miami GP

Lando Norris sharply criticized Max Verstappen’s driving style after the Miami GP, accusing the Dutch driver of ruining his own race with overly aggressive tactics. Norris felt Verstappen’s driving was reckless and lacked intelligence, which cost him valuable positions during the race.

First Lap Incident Puts Norris Back to Sixth, But He Fights Back

The race took a turn on the first lap when an incident between the two drivers pushed Norris back to sixth position. However, the McLaren driver showed resilience and recovered, finishing in second place. On the other hand, Verstappen struggled with his defense and finished a distant 40 seconds behind the race winner, Oscar Piastri.

Norris Reflects on Verstappen’s Tactics and His Own Performance

“Max was fighting hard. That’s his choice to do that. He ruined his own race. He’s not racing very smart,” said Norris, reflecting on Verstappen’s aggressive approach.

Norris, who managed to pass Verstappen in a maneuver that saw both drivers leave the track, noted that the incident was not investigated by the stewards.

“I gave it a good shot when I got into second place with about 25 or 30 laps to go. I only stopped pushing in the last 4-5 laps, and the gap came down from 10 to almost 3-4 seconds. I did everything I could,” Norris added.

Norris Now Trails Piastri by 16 Points in the Drivers’ Championship

After securing second place in the Miami GP, Norris now trails Oscar Piastri by 16 points in the drivers’ championship standings. Piastri claimed his third consecutive victory in the race, further solidifying his position in the championship battle.
