Norris Claims Dramatic British GP Victory as Hulkenberg Finally Reaches Podium

Lando Norris secured his maiden British GP victory — benefiting from a penalty given to his teammate Oscar Piastri during a race marked by challenging wet conditions.

Piastri initially led after passing Max Verstappen, but received a 10-second penalty for safety car procedure violation. The infringement occurred when the Australian driver suddenly slowed down before the restart.

Nico Hulkenberg finally claimed his first Formula 1 podium after 239 races — the German driver showed impressive performance with perfect pit stop timing in wet conditions and managed to defend his position against Lewis Hamilton.

“If you don’t think it was fair, we should swap back and just race,” Piastri told the team via radio after the penalty, but McLaren chose to maintain the order.

The race featured several virtual safety car and full safety car periods due to incidents on the wet track. Verstappen who led early recovered to fifth after spinning, while Pierre Gasly, Lance Stroll, Alexander Albon, Fernando Alonso, and George Russell completed the top ten.
