Noni Madueke leaves Chelsea ahead of Arsenal transfer

According to ESPN sources, Noni Madueke has left Chelsea’s camp — ahead of a £50 million transfer to Arsenal.

The 23-year-old winger is scheduled for a medical examination tomorrow before completing his move to North London. Madueke, currently with Chelsea at the Club World Cup — will miss the final against Paris Saint-Germain this weekend.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has long admired the England international and plans to develop him as a left winger — despite Madueke’s best position being on the right wing.

Joining from PSV Eindhoven about two and a half years ago, Madueke recorded impressive performances last season:

• 11 goals
• 5 assists
• Helped Chelsea win the Conference League

This will be the second Chelsea player to join Arsenal this summer — following goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga’s arrival.
