Nolan Siegel’s Radio Drama at Bommarito 500 Leads to McLaren’s Apology

Nolan Siegel’s Radio Drama at Bommarito 500 Leads to McLaren’s Apology

The incident at last weekend’s Bommarito 500 — when Nolan Siegel received a drive-through penalty for blocking Scott McLaughlin — sparked an emotional outburst that went viral on social media.

The situation unfolded on lap 83 — McLaughlin attempted to pass on the inside of Turn 2, but Siegel made a blocking move that is prohibited under IndyCar regulations for safety reasons.

“Bullshit, absolute bullshit. He takes me out last race and he gets to continue. No. Tell Penske to go fuck themselves!” Siegel shouted over team radio.

Arrow McLaren quickly issued an official statement emphasizing team professionalism standards. They stated they had spoken directly with Siegel and the driver took responsibility for his actions.

This incident became part of broader tensions — involving Arrow McLaren principal Tony Kanaan and McLaughlin who have been feuding on social media since the push-to-pass incident in St. Petersburg and collision in Detroit.

McLaughlin later confirmed having a good conversation with Siegel after the race — indicating tensions between both drivers have subsided.
