Nico Hulkenberg Claims First F1 Podium at British GP

Nico Hulkenberg marked a historic moment at the British GP — securing his first Formula 1 podium after climbing from 19th to finish third.

Mercedes F1 and Aston Martin sent champagne bottles to the Sauber team to celebrate this achievement. Mercedes team attached a brief message reading: “Congratulations on your first podium! From Your Mercedes Team.”

Several drivers offered their congratulations via social media:

“Yessss Nicooo. So happy for you,” wrote four-time world champion Max Verstappen.

“Mega job mate and very well deserved,” added Esteban Ocon.

Hulkenberg expressed his emotions: “I am ecstatic — this is such a special day for the team and for me personally. The race conditions kept changing, but we made the right calls especially with the timing of switching to slick tires.”

This result moved Sauber up to sixth in the constructors’ standings, 18 points behind Williams in fifth. Hulkenberg now sits ninth in the drivers’ championship with 37 points.
