Nick Sanchez claims maiden NASCAR Xfinity Series victory at Atlanta

Nick Sanchez made history by claiming his first NASCAR Xfinity Series victory at Atlanta — a race filled with drama and weather challenges.

The race experienced a lengthy delay due to lightning in the vicinity of the track. Sanchez spun on lap 69 but managed to recover and lead the race to the checkered flag.

Drama unfolded during the final restart when Sanchez briefly dropped to third position — however, the driver fought back to reclaim the lead and maintained it until the race conclusion.

Top five finishers in the race:

  • Carson Kvapil (second place)
  • Sam Mayer (third place)
  • Connor Zilisch (fourth place)
  • Taylor Gray (fifth place)

“This reminds me of my 2023 Trucks debut at Atlanta. I spun then and finished second. Now I spun and won. Big thanks to Scott Borchetta and the entire team,” said Sanchez after the race.

The race, which concluded around midnight local time, featured several caution incidents and lead changes — with Aric Almirola and Jesse Love briefly leading before Sanchez ultimately dominated the final portion to secure his maiden victory.
