Nick Kuipers Announces Departure from Persib after Six-Year Career

Nick Kuipers, a stalwart in Persib Bandung’s backline, has officially announced that he will leave the club after the end of the 2024/2025 Liga 1 season, bringing an end to a remarkable six-year journey in Indonesian football.

A key figure in Persib’s recent success

The Dutch center-back joined Maung Bandung in August 2019 from ADO Den Haag and quickly established himself as one of the most reliable defenders in Liga 1. Known for his physical presence and leadership, Kuipers played a pivotal role in helping Persib secure back-to-back Liga 1 titles over the past two seasons.

In a heartfelt message posted on his personal Instagram account, the 31-year-old reflected on his time in Bandung.

“I wish I could extend this message for a few more years, but I want to let everyone know that my story in Bandung will soon come to an end,” wrote Kuipers.

End of an era at Maung Bandung

Kuipers’ departure will mark the end of an era for Persib Bandung, with the club losing a leader who not only anchored the defense but also served as a bridge between local and foreign players. His professionalism and dedication have made him a fan favorite and a respected figure in Indonesian football.

As Persib looks ahead to the post-Kuipers era, supporters will undoubtedly cherish the legacy he leaves behind.
