Neymar extends contract with Santos until end of 2025

According to ESPN Brasil, Neymar has signed a contract extension with Santos until the end of 2025 — the deal includes an option to extend through the 2026 World Cup.

The 33-year-old striker rejoined his boyhood club in January after terminating his contract with Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal. The new agreement involves an additional contract between Santos and NR Sports for the use of Neymar’s image rights.

“I made a decision and listened to my heart. Santos is not just my team, it’s my home, my roots, my history, and my life,” stated Neymar in Santos’ official announcement.

Despite suffering an ACL injury while representing Brazil in October 2023, Neymar’s presence has positively impacted Santos. Club president Marcelo Teixeira stated that Neymar’s return to Vila Belmiro has led to record-breaking social media growth and significant commercial gains.

Santos, who returned to the top division this year, currently sits 15th in the standings with three wins in 12 matches. Brazil’s Serie A has been paused since June 12 and will resume after the FIFA Club World Cup.
