Newcastle ready to offer Alexander Isak new contract amid Liverpool interest

Newcastle United is preparing to take a crucial step to keep their star striker — Alexander Isak at St James’ Park amid interest from Liverpool.

The Magpies are reportedly ready to “break their wage structure” to offer a more lucrative new contract to the 25-year-old forward. Isak’s impressive performance last season — scoring 23 goals and providing six assists in 34 Premier League matches — has attracted attention from several elite European clubs.

Meanwhile, Manchester United is monitoring two defensive midfield targets — Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester City and Ardon Jashari from Club Brugge. Ndidi has a £9 million release clause following Leicester’s relegation, while Jashari could reportedly be acquired for around €40 million.

Arsenal is also active in the transfer market, targeting Brentford midfielder Christian Nørgaard, with a potential transfer value reaching £15 million including add-ons.
