New Team Secret Valorant Steals the Spotlight at EWC 2025 Pacific Qualifier

The new Team Secret Valorant squad, finalized less than two weeks ago, has already turned heads with their impressive performance in the Pacific Esports World Cup 2025 qualifiers.

As previously announced, the team chose not to renew Michael James “2GE” Goopio’s contract, and released veterans Jeremy “Jremy” Cabrera and Jessie “JessieVash” Cristy from the main squad following their disappointing results in VCT Pacific 2025: Stage 1.

In return, Secret signed prominent in-game leader Kelly “kellyS” Sedillo and Sha “ZesBeew” Mohtar—both playing internationally—and promoted academy player Nguyễn “Nizzy” Thành. While the roster appeared solid, the decision once drew criticism from fans, as the team’s long-standing ‘Filipino Pride’ was diluted by the inclusion of non-Filipino.

Despite initial skepticism, the revamped lineup delivered a good group stage run, suffering only one loss to DRX in their final match earlier today.

Their campaign began with a decisive victory over Nongshim Redforce, showcasing consistent strategies and solid kill/death ratios across both maps. They then defeated VCT Pacific 2025’s group stage dark horse, Boom Esports, proving their ability to thrive under pressure with renewed mental resilience.

These results have brought Secret one step closer to securing a spot at Esports World Cup 2025. A win against Paper Rex tomorrow would mark a stunning upset in the tournament.
