New Malaysia coach faces challenge in Group A of ASEAN Cup U-23 2025

Nafuzi Zain — the new coach of Malaysia U-23 national team — will face his first challenge in the ASEAN Cup U-23 2025 hosted by Indonesia.

This regional tournament will take place from July 15-29, 2025, with a three-group format involving 10 participating teams.

The competition groups are divided as follows:

• Group A: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Brunei Darussalam
• Group B: Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos
• Group C: Thailand, Myanmar, Timor Leste

This marks Nafuzi Zain’s first experience leading Malaysia’s national team at international level — a test that will determine his coaching capabilities in regional competition.
