Navi Acquires Smart Omega Empress in the Philippines

Eastern European esports giant Navi expands further into mobile esports with the recent acquisition of Filipino team Smart Omega Empress.

Fielding an all-Filipino female roster, OMGE has gained international recognition after an undefeated championship run at the Esports World Cup 2024, including a decisive victory over Southeast Asia’s powerhouse women’s MLBB team, Team Vitality. The squad is now poised to replicate this success in the upcoming season.

Following the acquisition, the team will compete under the banner of Natus Vincere Philippines (NAVI PH). NAVI’s General Manager, Jonathan Yuwono, expressed confidence that this move will elevate women’s esports while serving as a stepping stone for broader regional expansion.

“Smart Omega Empress has a history of winning internationally and at the highest levels. That is what NAVI is all about—we are born to win and are always exploring opportunities to acquire the best teams in their respective fields and game titles.

We expect this team to continue pushing the boundaries of what women can achieve, not only in MLBB competitions, but also in the community of young female gamers that look up to them,”,” Jonathan stated during a press session.

This marks NAVI’s second venture into Southeast Asia’s MLBB scene, following their entry into Indonesia via the purchase of Rebellion Zion’s league slot. However, their debut season fell short of expectations, with the team failing to qualify for the MPL ID Season 15 playoffs.
