NASCAR Set for Historic Mexico Race with Full Grid

NASCAR has revealed the complete entry list for the historic Mexico City race — an event that will feature 37 Cup Series cars and 39 Xfinity Series vehicles.

For the Cup Series, the grid consists of 36 regular drivers plus one open slot to be filled by Katherine Legge in the No. 78 Chevrolet from Live Fast Motorsports team.

While the Xfinity class typically limits to 38 grid spots, organizers have expanded capacity to 40 cars specifically for this event. Several Cup Series drivers will compete in Xfinity to gain more road course experience, including:

  • Daniel Suarez in the No. 9 JR Motorsports Chevrolet
  • Ty Gibbs in the No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota
  • Christopher Bell in the No. 24 Sam Hunt Racing Toyota

Another Mexican-born driver, Andres Perez De Lara, will make his Xfinity Series debut in the No. 91 Chevrolet from DGM Racing team. Meanwhile, the No. 35 car will participate though its driver remains unannounced.
