Jesse Love lost his Xfinity Series victory at Rockingham after his No. 2 Chevrolet failed post-race inspection, resulting in Sammy Smith being declared the winner.

Richard Childress Racing plans to appeal the decision this Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Cup Series is entering their final off-weekend before facing 28 consecutive races until the championship finale in November.

Josiah Wright, former rear tire changer for Brad Keselowski’s No. 6 RFK Racing Ford Mustang, has regained his credentials after being suspended in mid-March for violating the substance abuse policy. NASCAR stated Wright is now “eligible to return to all NASCAR activity.”

Meanwhile, Corbin Sklener — a jackman for Mike Harmon Racing who was also suspended for a similar violation following the Las Vegas race — has not yet received clearance to return to competition.
