Drama at Coca-Cola 600: Multiple-Car Crash Involves Five NASCAR Drivers

A dramatic multi-car crash marred Stage 3 of the Coca-Cola 600 after three drivers collided exiting Turn 4, resulting in a chain reaction that eventually involved five NASCAR drivers.

The incident began as Ryan Blaney, Chase Briscoe, and Daniel Suarez battled for position. With no space left to maneuver, Suarez spun into Briscoe’s front end, ricocheting into Blaney and sending both cars hard into the outside wall.

Suarez’s Car Hits Two More in Chaotic Collision

As the collision unfolded, Suarez’s car shot back across the track, catching Justin Haley and Kyle Larson in the melee. The crash instantly ended the day for four of the five involved.

For Kyle Larson, the incident was particularly bitter. He was attempting the rare Indy 500–Coca-Cola 600 double — becoming only the fifth driver in history to try it on the same day.

After falling short at the Indy 500, Larson had shown early promise in Charlotte, even leading briefly before the crash derailed his night.

“I saw smoke and tried to get left to the infield, but couldn’t get far enough left, so I got tagged and that ended our night,” said Larson.

Blaney Suffers Fifth DNF of the Season

Ryan Blaney, who was also caught in the pile-up, described the intensity of the battle.

“We were just tight off Turn 4 and three-wide, and just kind of bounced off each other,” said Blaney, who recorded his fifth DNF of the 2025 season.

Of the five drivers involved, only Justin Haley managed to continue the race. Final results:

  • Blaney: P38

  • Larson: P37

  • Suarez: P36

  • Briscoe: DNF

  • Haley: Continued
