Leaks about the 2025 North America Challenger Tournament recently circulating on social media have sparked debates over a drastic reduction in the prize pool.

According to data shared online, the upcoming NACT 2025 will no longer award monetary prizes to participants, replacing them with larger amount of in-game items, Diamonds.

he proposed structure allocates 200,000 Diamonds (approximately USD3,636) to the champion team and 150,000 Diamonds (approximately USD2,727) to the runner-up. Teams placing third and fourth will each receive 100,000 Diamonds (approximately $1,818).

Beyond the prize changes, the tournament format is set to undergo a major overhaul. The previous league system will be replaced with an open-bracket structure that includes 96 teams, effective from the preliminary stages through to the finals.

This move marks a major setback and a potentially fatal decision, given NACT’s status as North America’s premier professional MLBB competition. Without incentives, there are concerns that top talent and professionals may abandon the league.

This is not the first instance where Moonton has slashed the prize pool for a top-tier tournament. Earlier in 2024, the MLBB Pro League Latin America reduced its total prize money from USD80,000 to USD28,000, signaling a troubling trend across Moonton’s esports ecosystems.
