Muhammad Ardiansyah Shines in Indonesia U-23 Debut Match

Muhammad Ardiansyah, a 22-year-old goalkeeper and backup at PSM Makassar, has now earned full trust from coach Gerald Vanenburg to guard the goal for the Indonesia U-23 national team.

Born on March 28, 2003, Ardiansyah made an impressive debut, keeping a clean sheet as Indonesia defeated Brunei Darussalam 8-0 in their opening match of the 2025 ASEAN U-23 Cup.

Although he made his Liga 1 debut two years ago, Ardiansyah had never been on coach Shin Tae-yong’s radar for the U-20 national team, who preferred:

• Daffa Fasya
• Erlangga Setyo

But coach Gerald Vanenburg’s decision to give Ardiansyah his first chance at the national level proved to be the right one, thanks to his convincing performance in the opener.
