According to the official MotoGP announcement, the Argentine Grand Prix will move from Termas de Rio Hondo Circuit to the Autodromo de Buenos Aires Oscar y Juan Galvez starting from the 2026 season.

Marc Marquez holds the record as the most successful rider at Termas, with four wins, including the first and most recent editions. In the last race held in March 2025, the Spanish rider swept both the Sprint and Grand Prix victories.

The unique character of the Termas circuit — with rarely used asphalt and low grip that wears tires quickly — has been the perfect stage for Marquez’s skills.

Meanwhile, the Buenos Aires Circuit is no stranger to MotoGP. Before Termas was built in 2008, this legendary venue hosted:

  • Four races in the 1960s (1960–1963)
  • Three races in the 1980s (1981, 1982, 1987)
  • Four races in the 1990s (1994, 1995, 1998, 1999)
