Moriyasu to Rely on Young Talent vs Australia & Indonesia

Quoting Sponichi, Hajime Moriyasu — head coach of the Japan national football team — has revealed his plan for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against the Australia national football team and Indonesia national football team.

The Samurai Blue, who have already secured a spot at the 2026 World Cup, will use the final two matches as an opportunity to develop young players.

“Japan national team coach Hajime Moriyasu will call up a large number of Olympic squad graduates for the remaining two 2026 World Cup qualifying matches next month against Australia and Indonesia,” the Japanese media outlet reported.

Japan will face Australia on June 5, followed by their final third-round match against Indonesia five days later.
