Morbidelli Reveals Intense Battle with Aldeguer at Aragon GP

Franco Morbidelli recounted a dramatic and adrenaline-fueled battle with Fermin Aldeguer at the Aragon Grand Prix, describing the duel as one of the most physically intense moments of his season. The two riders clashed repeatedly while fighting for fifth place, with several contacts occurring down the back straight.

“Pure adrenaline was going through my head. You could feel it like an energy drink at that race moment!” Morbidelli said after the race.

Early race nearly ends in disaster

The Italian rider endured a challenging start, narrowly avoiding a crash on three separate occasions — two of which happened at turns 9 and 10, where he had close calls that could have ended his race.

Despite the early drama and a difficult launch similar to his Saturday sprint performance, Morbidelli regained control and rode consistently through the remaining laps.

Victory over Aldeguer brings sense of redemption

Morbidelli compared the battle to his memorable duel with Marc Marquez at Silverstone, noting that unlike that occasion, he managed to come out on top this time.

“It felt like Silverstone again, but this time, I got the better end,” he added.

His fifth-place finish stands as a testament to his resilience and improvement over recent rounds, especially in wheel-to-wheel racecraft.
