Moonton Reveals Major Format Changes for MSC x EWC 2025

The upcoming 7th MSC tournament, set to be held as part of the EWC 2025 competition series in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia next month, has just received several updates expected to make the competition even more exciting to follow.

According to a recent announcement by Moonton Games, new adjustments include changes to the match format, qualification mechanics, and an expanded prize pool. First, the tournament will transition from a Best-of-Two single round-robin format to a Best-of-Three (Bo3) double-elimination format.

Under this new format, each team must maintain greater consistency to secure their standing in the upper bracket. The 16 teams qualifying for the MSC x EWC 2025 Main Stage will be divided into two groups, with the top four teams from each group advancing to the knockout phase.

The second adjustment involves a new advantage for undefeated teams: those finishing the group stage without losses will earn the right to choose their opponents in the next round. Specifically, teams advancing with a 2-0 group stage record may select lower-ranked opponents in the first knockout round.

Finally, MSC x EWC 2025 will feature a newly added third-place match with a prize of USD 250,000. This significant reward will surely motivate the last two teams in the semis to deliver top notch entertainments for global fans.
