The recent transfer of Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov from G2 Esports to Team Falcons has set a new record in Counter-Strike esports history: he now holds the title of the most expensive player ever acquired by a professional team, surpassing all previous deals from the CSGO era through the current CS2 competitive scene.

According to reports, the transfer fee for m0NESY to Falcons is approximately $2,200,000 USD, a figure that likely excludes additional bonuses, performance incentives, and sponsorship-related clauses.

When compared to historic transfers, m0NESY’s valuation eclipses even top performers like Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov (ex-Cloud9) and the duo Denis “electroNic” Sharipov and Ilya “Perfecto” Zalutskiy (ex-Natus Vincere and Cloud9), whose combined transfer fees peaked at around $2,000,000 USD.

With this groundbreaking deal, Falcons have solidified their position as the highest-spending team in CS2—and possibly across the entire esports landscape.

The new roster is expected to elevate Falcons’ gameplay significantly, especially with m0NESY reuniting with his former G2 teammate Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, who joined Falcons in January 2024. Their strong synergy was instrumental in G2’s dominant 2023 season, including their championship victory at the Intel Extreme Masters series.

The 18-year-old AWP’er is anticipated to replace Abdulkhalik “degster” Gasanov, who was featured in Falcons’ winning squad at the recent PGL Major Bucharest 2025. The team is reportedly undergoing intensive preparations to ensure peak performance at June’s BLASTtv Austin.
