Monaco Target Onana, Manchester United Goalkeeper Affirms Desire to Stay

According to ESPN, Andre Onana has expressed his determination to stay at Manchester United — despite interest from AS Monaco who are seeking a new goalkeeper.

The Ligue 1 club previously targeted David De Gea, but failed after the former United keeper extended his contract with Fiorentina. Monaco then contacted Onana’s representatives to inquire about his availability this summer.

The Cameroonian international — who joined United about two years ago — is committed to continuing his career at Old Trafford unless indicated otherwise by head coach Ruben Amorim. Onana remains under contract until 2028 and plans to return to training next month.

Despite facing criticism from supporters due to several costly errors leading to goals, United has shown no signs of releasing Onana. Meanwhile, the club has been linked with Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez who is open to moving to Old Trafford, though no official contact has been made between the clubs.
