New Monaco GP 2025 Rule Change: Two Mandatory Pit Stops Introduced

Formula 1 has announced a major regulation update ahead of the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix—each driver will now be required to make two mandatory pit stops during the race.

This change comes in response to the underwhelming action witnessed at last year’s Monaco GP, which recorded only four overtakes throughout the race. The Monaco street circuit, famed for its glamour and tight layout, has long been criticized for its lack of overtaking opportunities.

Hamilton Present for Preparations and F1 Film Premiere

Lewis Hamilton is currently in Monte Carlo, actively involved in pre-race preparations. He also attended the premiere of the new Formula 1-themed film, for which he serves as executive producer. Speaking to the media, Hamilton admitted feeling “nervous” about how his fellow drivers would receive the movie.

“It’s been a passion project. But having the drivers see it first? That’s nerve-wracking,” said Hamilton.

Officials emphasized the importance of maintaining respectful conduct among fans, urging the community to support the sport in a positive and inclusive manner.
