Monaco F1 circuit to be part of 2026 Monte Carlo Rally

The Monte Carlo Rally organizers — opening round of the 2026 World Rally Championship (WRC) — have revealed plans to incorporate the Monaco Formula 1 circuit into one of their special stages.

The race scheduled for January 22-25 will feature 17 asphalt stages — with the F1 circuit stage planned as Saturday’s finale.

F1 circuit usage in rally isn’t new — history records Chris Atkinson from Subaru and Francois Duval from Ford setting identical fastest times when Monaco stage was last used in 2008.

  • Thursday night: three stages with two in darkness
  • Friday: total of 129.38 competitive kilometers
  • Saturday: 78 kilometers including new La Breole/Bellaffaire stage spanning 30.10 km
  • Sunday: double runs through Col de Braus/La Cabanette and La Bollene-Vesubie/Moulinet

If the proposal gets approved, rally base will relocate from Gap to Monte Carlo on Saturday — one day earlier than usual.
