Mohamed Salah has finally ended speculation about his future by signing a two-year contract extension with Liverpool — the Egyptian winger will remain at Anfield until 2027.

After signing his new contract, Salah immediately proved his worth by recording his 23rd assist of the season in Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over West Ham — setting a new Premier League record for goal involvements in a single season with 45 (27 goals, 18 assists).

“I signed because I think we have a chance to win more trophies and enjoy my football,” said Salah. “I had my best years here, and I’m very happy to stay.”

This latest achievement puts Salah in elite Premier League company:

  • Only three players have ever recorded more assists in a single season — Thierry Henry, Mesut Ozil, and Kevin De Bruyne
  • Broke the record of 44 goal involvements previously held by Henry and Erling Haaland
  • Just three assists away from breaking the record of 20 assists in a single season

Thierry Henry, whose record was just broken, praised Salah’s achievement: “What he’s doing right now is legendary — that’s exactly what it is.”
