Mirko Slams Moonton’s EWC 2025 Decision

Mirko Slams Moonton’s EWC 2025 Decision

Popular MLBB caster Frederick “Mirko” Loho has commented on the recent controversy surrounding Moonton’s decision to remove team S8UL Esports from the upcoming MSC x EWC 2025 event in Saudi Arabia.

Per final announcement, Moonton disqualified S8UL and replaced them with Area 77 as the NACT representative for EWC 2025. The main reason was a contract breach committed by several players promoting Honor of Kings before the event, with Michael “MobaZane” Cosgun and Jong “Hoon” Seong-hun named as the culprits.

This decision quickly sparked strong backlash from the global MLBB community and S8UL members, pointing out inconsistencies in Moonton’s rules. They argued S8UL members did not promote outside their contract’s schedule.

Meanwhile, MLBB esports figures like Mirko worry this could damage Moonton’s solid reputation. He even called it a major blunder, suggesting the controversy actually gives their competitor a massive, free publicity.

Moonton made mistakes. By banning Soul8 from promoting H, they have indirectly promoted H better than H has been promoting itself.”

Mirko urged Moonton to improve its MLBB esports promotion strategy after this mess to avoid losing market share. The 23-year-old caster highlighted HoK’s aggressive marketing, citing its popular recent Philippine trailer as a threat to the MLBB community’s attention.
