Miracle’s Extended Break Sparks Concern Over Dota 2’s Future Talent

The extended absence of Nigma Galaxy star Amer “Miracle” al-Barkawi from the Dota 2 competitive scene has raised concerns among esports professionals, with many doubt another player with his level of raw talent will emerge in the coming years.

As previously confirmed, Miracle extended his break starting last February and isn’t expected to return to competitive Dota 2 with his team anytime soon. Nigma Galaxy has tried various lineups to fill the gap, but so far, none have delivered positive results.

This situation is unfortunate, as the Jordanian-Polish player is widely considered one of the best of his generation. His absence has drawn reactions from fellow pros who have followed his career, like Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev and Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov.

During a recent Twitch livestream, RAMZES suggested Miracle might not be interested in returning to competition, noting noted that Miracle has already won many prestigious titles and attracts tens of thousands of viewers streaming on his personal channel. Additionally, he believes this mindset is common among top players who achieve significant success within a short period of time.

Meanwhile, Korb3n (Team Spirit’s manager) feels that if Miracle fully retires, it truly marks the end of an era. He explained that the 27-year-old was the ‘last’ player from a time when raw talent in competitive Dota 2 shone through exceptional individual skill. And this clearly contrasts with the modern era, which emphasises more on team composition.

However, Korb3n remains optimistic that future players with similar traits could emerge, pointing to the rising popularity of young player Alan “satanic” Gallyamov. Realistically, though, both RAMZES and Korb3n agree: the era insane mechanical skills is nearing the end, and finding a ‘new Miracle’ under current conditions will be very difficult.
