Milinkovic-Savic silences critics after Al Hilal defeats Manchester City

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic delivered a strong response to Saudi Arabian football critics after Al Hilal defeated Manchester City 4-3 in the FIFA Club World Cup in Orlando, Florida.

The Serbian midfielder who joined the Saudi Pro League about two years ago — challenged critics who doubted the competition’s quality.

“Let’s see if they will criticize us now. We showed them it’s not like they are speaking about the league, we show against Real Madrid, Salzburg, Pachuca and tonight,” said Milinkovic-Savic.

Al Hilal’s coach, Simone Inzaghi, who joined just before this tournament — also shared his perspective on the historic victory.

“The key of this result are the players and the heart they put on the pitch. We knew we had to do something extraordinary because Manchester City are very strong, like climbing Everest without oxygen, and we were great doing it,” said Inzaghi.
