Mikel Arteta Excited Ahead of New Season With Arsenal

Mikel Arteta has expressed his immense excitement ahead of the new season — even admitting to getting “goosebumps” just thinking about it.

The Arsenal manager watched his team finish runners-up in the Premier League for the third consecutive time — a feat he believes is just “a few more percentage points” away from turning into a title win.

“We started planning two or three months ago for pre-season and the opening weeks of the campaign. Every time I think about it, I feel really excited,” Arteta told Sky Sports.

Arsenal ended the season with a 2–1 victory over Southampton, a match Arteta watched from the stands due to a touchline ban. Martin Ødegaard scored the decisive goal after Kieran Tierney opened the scoring in what was his final appearance for the club.

“We will give everything and turn over every stone possible to make this club more successful,” added Arteta, who also shared his inspiration from Arsenal Women’s recent Champions League triumph over Barcelona.
