Japan’s mixed doubles pair, Hiroki Midorikawa/Natsu Saito, ended their journey at the Indonesia Open 2025 after losing to China’s Cheng Xing/Zhang Chi in the quarterfinals.

The seventh seed of this BWF Super 1000 tournament — ranked ninth in the world — fell in straight games, 19-21, 13-21, in a match that lasted 42 minutes.

This loss came just a day after Midorikawa/Saito defeated the home pair, Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu, in a tight three-game battle.

It marked the second time Midorikawa/Saito failed to overcome the world No. 11 pair — highlighting their inconsistent performances at the top level.
