Mick Schumacher Reveals Positive Progress in Negotiations with Cadillac F1 Team

According to Motorsport.com Brazil, Mick Schumacher revealed positive developments in his talks with the Cadillac Formula 1 team set to join in the 2026 season.

The 26-year-old driver — who currently serves as Mercedes’ reserve driver after parting ways with Haas about two years ago — continues to pursue opportunities for an F1 grid return.

“Yes, of course, discussions are ongoing. The communication has been very positive so far,” stated Schumacher. “They’ve already hired a fantastic number of people. It’s an honor to negotiate with them.”

Cadillac team principal Graeme Lowdon emphasized that his team isn’t looking for drivers solely seeking to prove themselves.

“Our team is not there as a vehicle for someone to prove a point. Drivers should be motivated for the team around them, not just to show something to the world,” Lowdon explained.

Besides Schumacher, names like Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez have also been linked to the team set to become the 11th entry in the F1 championship.
