Michelle Agyemang discusses pressure ahead of Euro 2025

Michelle Agyemang — England’s young football talent — shares her perspective on mounting pressure ahead of Euro 2025.

The 19-year-old emerged as a surprise inclusion in England’s Euro 2025 squad — her senior national team debut came against Belgium last April, where she scored just 41 seconds after entering the pitch.

Following a loan season at Brighton from Arsenal, Agyemang again demonstrated positive impact as a substitute against France — her presence in the penalty box helped create Keira Walsh’s goal.

“Honestly, the biggest pressure comes from myself. I don’t really listen to the outside noise. The most important thing is focusing on what I can do,” says Agyemang.

Regarding coach Sarina Wiegman, she adds: “She’s like a mother to us. She cares about our wellbeing, but can also be firm when we need to improve quality.”

While admiring Arsenal legend Kelly Smith and often consulting with Alessia Russo, Agyemang is determined to develop her own style — focusing on consistency and effectiveness across various forward positions.
