Michele Pirro reveals Ducati’s success secrets at Italian MotoGP

Michele Pirro — Ducati’s test rider — witnessed the fruits of his labor at the 2025 Italian MotoGP, with Ducati riders dominating the podium — Marc Marquez claiming victory, followed by Alex Marquez in second, and Fabio Di Giannantonio in third.

Francesco Bagnaia, also on a Ducati, had to settle for fourth position — trailing behind his factory colleagues.

“It was a very good race. I don’t see it as a step forward or backward from Aragon — we’re at the same level,” stated Pirro.

“The main challenge, as I often tell the technical team — rider sensations cannot be precisely measured. We have to work without them and find ways to replicate them,” he added.

Pirro observed Bagnaia’s performance who initially showed impressive pace — battling with the Marquez brothers before eventually dropping off the podium positions.

“Bagnaia is very strong in braking and when leading — he has exceptional consistency. This is evident from his 11 victories last year, all achieved by starting from the front, maintaining focus, and following his own rhythm,” explained Pirro.
