Michail Antonio returns to field after serious car accident

Michail Antonio — the 35-year-old West Ham United striker — has returned to the football field after suffering a serious car accident six months ago.

The Jamaica international appeared as a second-half substitute when his team lost 1-0 to Guatemala in the CONCACAF Gold Cup match in Los Angeles.

A horrific Ferrari accident last December resulted in Antonio suffering a leg fracture — requiring surgery and three weeks of hospitalization.

“I’m grateful to be alive,” expressed Antonio after his car skidded and hit a tree.

Currently, Antonio is in contract negotiations with West Ham United — the club he has represented since 2015 and where he became their all-time Premier League top scorer with 68 goals from 268 appearances.
